New Zealand: visiting it is much more than the search for adventure sports!

| Edilson Fazzio

I just returned from a four-week trip through New Zealand or Aotearoa according to the Maori, where I was able to visit with due tranquility 5 the 9 regions of this small (270 mil Km²) and wonderful island country, formed by 2 main islands (North and South), belonging to Oceania and with a population of 4,5 millons of citizens.

Touring in New Zealand makes it possible to always be present in a pleasant landscape and sometimes even “breathtaking”, such as the region called Fiordland (southwest of south island) leading the vast majority of people to a state of “sublimation”. Even rural landscapes, transformed by man to implement economic activities such as sheep farming, wood, cows, horses, etc. and apple crops, kiwi, grapes, etc. are very well looked after, beautiful and worth visiting. At least recommended, visit any of the countless sheep wool producing farms as well as any of the countless wineries spread over almost all of New Zealand.

And the cities? All I visited are clean, organized, welcoming, safe, beautifuls, some of modern architecture others more bucolic and always with a very wide variety of attractions for the tourist and all without exception with good accommodation infrastructure, food and transportation.

Just as an example, whatever you are in Auckland (1,5 million inhab.), Wellington (400 mil hab.), Christchurch (380 mil hab.), Queenstown (25 mil hab.), etc. you will “bump” at one or more tourist service points (i-SITE Visitor Centre) and receive up-to-date and accurate information on “what and how to do what interests you”.

Generally, the sea elements, Beach, lago, rio, Mountain, volcano, thermal waters, forest, cave, winery, wool and leather products, Maori culture, european culture, Asian culture, cuisine with fresh products and activities corresponding to the elements mentioned will be available to tourists in their day-to-day in New Zealand.

For a period of approximately 4 weeks in New Zealand, I suggest for example choosing the cities of Auckland, Rotorua and Wellington on the North Island and Christchurch and Queenstown on the South Island as accommodation points and get to know these cities and their surroundings well through a round trip., using regular bus or tour bus lines or even rental cars, according to your profile.

Hiring / buying any of these transport and / or guidance services is very simple in New Zealand and can be done even at tourist service points(i-SITE Visitor Centre). For those who do not care much about doing several check-in / check-out during a trip to lodging and if the trip is in the summer, you can also include the cities of Nelson and Dunedin as places for overnight stays and consequently know more 2 the 9 tourist regions of the South Island.

Finally a tip and / or alert, that is, do not accept to know New Zealand, “Just like a flight stop”, of a trip to Australia, as offered by several tour operators / agencies here in Brazil. New Zealand, as I tried to show you always deserves a “exclusive visit ".

The following images will try to illustrate a little bit of New Zealand (100% Pure/New Zealand).

Kiwi - the bird national symbol
Flat white - the neo Zeoland way of drinking coffee
Fergburger - Queenstown (unmissable!)
Rugby - national sport
Geysers de Rotorua

Queenstown scenes and natural beauty!

Congratulations ! (=welcome)

Very beautiful the documentary and the suggestions. I don't travel much but I will pass it on to my daughter and son-in-law who travel at least once a year.
