Wanderlust* & Architect

*Wanderlust (from german hike: 'walk', ‘Wander’ + Lust: 'wish'; in Portuguese, “desire to travel”) is a term that describes a strong desire to travel, to explore the world, to go anywhere, on a journey that can lead to the unknown, to something new.

If I had to define myself in a few words, would use these two: wanderlust and architect. Since I was little I remember having feelings related to them.

At the age of eight I wanted to be an architect. Cut out and store launch plans that appear in the real estate section of the Sunday newspaper. I set up my own dollhouse of cardboard boxes and fabric scraps. To 14 years I started to chart my path in this profession and entered the technical high school of Buildings and, later, at the Faculty of Architecture. I never had a second option and I'm still an architect!

The desire to travel has always been present and I can describe memories that represent this in the different stages of my life., how, for example, as a child my father would put my sisters and me facing the maps of Brazil and the World in the living room of the house and asked where were the cities X or countries Y.

Or when we played with the board game called “Travel”, who won who finished the route drawn with the cities we would have to pass first.

Already in college, Professor Duschenes' History of Architecture classes, with your super movies 8 from different countries, places and cultures, made us travel together. And the environments set up for Professor Jun's classes made us explore the five senses in order to demonstrate the perception of space, what I use until today in the places I pass.

Travel has always been there, with different formats, budgets, destinations and companies. “Take the road” on a weekend just for the pleasure of driving without a certain destination. Travel to regional Architecture Meetings, national and latin american. Start Europe through Madrid with the ease of the language and Gaudí. Living in New York (my house!) and discovering Hanoi are just a few of my experiences!
