| Cris Berbert

Close to Vancouver (so close you can go by bus), no North Vancouver, are Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Grouse Mountain. Great attractions to visit while in town.

THE Grouse Mountain – The Peak of Vancouver (https://www.grousemountain.com), is north of vancouver, just 20 minutes by car from the center. The entrance to the mountain is at the end of the road, where you can go up by cable car, enjoying the view of Capilano lake, from the city and port of Vancouver, and even from the sea!

At the top of the mountain, the arrival is at the main building which has a restaurant, store and exhibition area, and from it the paths to the most diverse attractions.

In the summer, the practice is hiking (many people venture up the mountain along the existing trails), In the winter, the slopes are open for skiing and snowboarding.

Great place to have contact with the fauna and flora of the mountains; to be able to appreciate the vegetation and the animals, like bears and owls, watch the eagle fly and get lucky, see the deer in the forest.

The structure of the Grouse Mountain is complete, with cafes, shops and activities for children and adults promoted by the monitors. Even helicopter flight is possible to venture!

on the way back to Vancouver, just 5 min from the entrance to Grouse Mountain is the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park (https://www.capbridge.com).
The park is within a forested area. (rain forest), with immense trees and a canyon where the Capilano river flows.
The first suspension bridge was built in 1889 to connect the two sides of this canyon.
This park has so much attraction that you can spend the whole day there.!
There are several trails to walk, crossing the canyon way up there, going from tree to tree at different heights, by the famous suspension bridges, and descending to the edge of the Capilano River, flanking the canyon wall.
The centuries-old and incredibly tall trees, make up this scenario more than pleasant.
All trail points have small service kiosks, with bathrooms, coffees and snacks.
in the central square, near the entrance, there is the main cafeteria where you can eat the salmon burger and drink the local beer, listening to live music. in this same place, is the main store, for those who want to buy souvenirs or the famous red and black plaid flannel shirt of mountain lumberjacks! 🙂
Everyone can enjoy the attractions of this park. And I can say they are very private!
Be sure to visit when in Vancouver!
