Shows around the world!

| Cris Berbert

Last month we had here in Brazil the edition of Rock in Rio and São Paulo Trip, that reminded me of some experiences I had at shows around the world.

Traveling and going to shows are my biggest passions, and being able to combine the two is just happiness!

Whenever I travel, I try to find out what shows are going on where I'm going.. Comparing with São Paulo, prices are the same (doing the conversion) or even cheaper, and the logistics to get there and leave are always easier and more accessible.

In São Paulo what saves these days is Allianz Park, which, in addition to having a metro station nearby,, there is still the Shopping Bourbon next door to park. Even though it is expensive, It's still better than stealing “flannels” around the Morumbi stadium for example.

Most stadiums abroad, or concert halls, are well served by public transport. Madison Square Garden is in downtown Manhattan, NY, o Barclays Center (the case of Brooklyn Nets basketball) It's in Brooklyn and has a subway station right outside. O MetLife Stadium (Where did I watch Bon Jovi?) is in New Jersey with a train station nearby, or as it was in the case of this show, It is possible to go by bus directly from the bus station (Port Authority Bus Terminal) next to Times Square in Manhattan.

I remember once, when I wanted to watch Chris Robinson (who?: lead singer of the band Black Crowes, who was on a solo tour during a break from the band) who was going to play in a theater in a small town called New Brunswick, more or less 1 New York time. We managed to go by train (normal price ticket), We watched the show and returned to NY in peace.

In Chicago we watched REM by purchasing tickets in advance online and collecting them on site..

Even when it is not possible to buy tickets in advance, it's worth trying right away. On a trip to London, I saw Sting was on tour there, But I couldn't get the ticket online. I knew which theater he was performing in., I took the subway, At the box office I asked for the cheapest ticket and went in! Easy as that…

Here, the last time I went to Rock in Rio was in 2011. Expensive ticket, I stayed in Copacabana where the transportation, in addition to the cost, was mega abusive., he took 2 hours to arrive. Furthermore, I left Cidade do Rock before finishing so as not to wait hours in line for the return buses. This discourages any thoughts of wanting to watch it again.

And you? What shows they watched around the world?
